Security

I came to know about the bomb blasts which occured in Delhi claiming the lives of 22 people and injuring over 100 people. I find it difficult to imagine the monstrosity of the people responsible for this. What could possibly be going on in their heads? What greater purpose do the blasts serve? Its a shame that innocent people all over the country have to pay with their lives for whatever animosity lies behind the blasts.

We live in a world filled with terror. Of hatred for one another. Of cold, heartless killers who do not hesitate to take countless innocent lives. When the Jaipur blasts occured, one person on TV said, We are living in fear for we do not know if we’ll return back home in the evening or not. It struck me as a very unfamiliar emotion and state of mind. I remember thinking – how could anyone live like that? Surely we deserve to be safe and secure in our homes or offices or the streets we walk in.

Justifiably, people are more insecure these days. We do not know where the next bomb blast could possibly take place. It could be 1000 kilometres away from you. It could be next door. How pityful is it for us to be and remain insecure about our safety. How very primitive.

I feel sorry for the people who lost their lives in the Delhi blasts. For their families who mourn the loss. Notwithstanding, It could have also been any of us.

The government is talking about anti-terrorist laws. With so many attacks happening all over the country, it is high time that action should be taken and the people responsible behind it punished. Let them also know that they cannot just blow up cities and kill people for no reason.

We need to feel secure again.

  • Akkusotto,
Gandha he yeh par dadnda he! Mera Nahi..kisi aur ka.
This line I borrowed from Company , a hindi movie I watched today.
    Unnikutta.

  • i totally agree with u, these attacks send chills in my spine. Why we dont have anti-terrorism laws enforced well? i believe its got largely to do with the forgetfulness of the ppl, ppl seem to move on and get on with their lives and the govt forgets it too, guess we are in a used-to-these-attacks mode, but deep down there is always a nagging feeling that you mite not get back home in one piece.
I watched this movie ‘A Wednesday’ recently, and it picks on the same thing, wonder when it will be a reality.

  • Hallo Raven. Yeah, people are in a used-to-these-attacks mode, allright. Very scary.

I havent watched ‘A Wednesday’. Me want to see it too.

  • While you are at it, watch Khuda ke Liye and Aamir too. Aamir gives an insight into how some of these blasts are planned!

  • cant agree more with the ‘used to attack mode’ perspective … both govt and common people

looks like this either a result of some agenda or insane people out in the open. how can sane minds kill innocent people and claim to be doing ‘jihad’??? just coz they cant target the “VIP”s (for example … a certain dubya) they are killing common man who may even be favouring them???

btw … i guess right wing extremists are not helping the situtation either. look at the carnage that happened in orissa … or the views of MNS. it wont be long before christian orgs take up arms. god save our country from these extremists aka narrow minded opportunists

  • @Sandeep So correct. Dubyaman’s the one they want, not the poor victims. Nothing’s safe anymore :(

@GWBE I want to – for both, yes.

  • Sometimes I wonder, where will it lead to , and will it ever end? Looking at the current situation, I’m not sure if it ever will. @Sandeep lets not bring religion into it, people who commit these mindless act, don’t belong to any religion, coz no religion teaches you to kill.
As for me the blame lies with the mighty Superpowers notably USA , its their narrow minded one dimensional view which has led to this situation. The foundation was laid down during the Afghan War, what we are seeing now is the fruit of it.

  • Sometimes I wonder, where will it lead to , and will it ever end?

A question that’s been plaguing everyone who’s prone to such attacks. And you’re right – no religion teaches you to kill. Although some extremists take the whole thing to the next level, leaving religion far behind, in my opinion.

Like a previous comment said – An eye for an eye makes the world blind. When will we realize it?

  • GWBE , Rinch…,

    Can I see you both…..

  • See us both, matlab?

  • Hahaha..
My rhymes and rhythems will land me in trouble I guess.
Your reply to GWBE was “I want to – for both, yes.”
That gave me the idea for that comment. I wanted to convey a wish to meet my collage mates!

  • Ohhh…. manasilai… I really am a tube light. Not all the time but sometimes.

Like the CREC office staff used to say – Sometimes I am becoming a tube light; sometimes I am not becoming a tube light :P
