The victory for Team India in Australia’s own home ground was sweet with a capital S and indeed a very long overdue one. Its amusing watching idiotic news channels go crazy this time of the year as they bring in all sorts of strange people to sing Chak De India in off-tune voices and hundreds of opinions as to how the new team represents a new future in Indian cricket and so on. My favourite of all these is Navjot Singh Sidhu with his unbeatable one-liners that I normally dont understand even as I find his enthusiasm so infectious that you cant help feeling invincible along with Team India.
I cant help feel sorry for Rahul Dravid’s now-fatal refusal of the team captaincy right before the T20 World Cup that suddenly thrust MS Dhoni straight into the limelight and gave birth to the rush of new cricketers in the Indian team. To say that the sport is a religion in our country is as true as saying a vain writer likes compliments on her blog posts. While the older, more experienced players may be left searching for a spot on the team, the younger ones may find it difficult to live up to the hype and maintain the victory streak is what Ajay Jadeja thinks and I agree with him to some extent.
First off, the youngsters may fall prey to the politics of the Indian way of how things happen and may be used as bench warmers in favour of experienced - read: older players. Or maybe I’m the only one wondering where RP Singh disappeared after winning the T20 World Cup for India. Secondly, Harbhajan Singh was wonderfully vindicated for all the absurd monkey business. And that he ousted both Symonds & Hayden reminds me of a proverb - revenge is a dish best served lbw or run out - take your pick.
Good luck to the young Indian team… they certainly have put the country back in the running. Hoping they wont do an India anytime soon and continue the winning streak for a long, long time to come.

I wanted the team to boycott the tour when the bhajji controversy had just started…i am glad they didn’t

Hehe! Way to go! really.
Now i am intrigued by the victory of under 19 team.
U-19 team victory overshadowed by the Aussie victory, dont you think?
Yeah yeah…
The pressure at the end of the game was so high, that it would have burst had it been a cooker.
We were busy explaining the game to a couple of Americans. We were “watching” the final in cricinfo in the middle of a business meeting!
Same here! We were also “watching’ the final in cricinfo, cricketnext and rediff - about five of us in the computer lab
