The missing audience

The Order of Phoenix finally showed up in my local theatre (FINALLY!!!) last friday and since I couldnt watch it that weekend, I decided to take leave from work yesterday and catch the movie cause (who knows?) it might last only till this friday.

So me and my brother got ourself tickets for the 11 am show. And to my surprise, there were only FIVE people in the entire theatre including us! Three runaway school boys were seated downstairs who perhaps were only interested in smoking and there were just the two of us in the balcony!!!

The only thought I had in mind was to tell the theatre people that this is what happens when you release a movie late-late-late and still expect people to come and watch your show and that too, going by the standard rule of audiences coming in (probably) only to watch some chick(s) shaking their stuff in a corny hindi movie.

The theatre people have most probably replied like Mr. Burns - “You know Smithers, ‘I told you so’ has a brother… his name is ‘Shut the hell up!!!:P

Where’s your theater located at? That is a pretty late release date…the whole point of going to a movie theater is to experience a new movie!

I can well visualise this! Denzong or Vajra? I guess Vara huh!
    OR Defence? Haha

Hahaha!!!!!!!!!!!! Defence!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As it is, there are only two theatres in town, I had completely forgotten about the third!!! The one in which the Defence people screen out-of-date Hindi movies to village people :P

Joanne, the theatre in question is called Vajra (symbolic to the Buddhist religion btw) and its located in Gangtok, Sikkim, East India.

On second thoughts - I seriously don’t mind checking out Defence this time! I am sure it will be one helluva experience. Are you game? :D
    Hey has Star reopened?

I thought you already left for your weekend vacationt to Mumbai! You want to check out Defence? If the guards let us in - they’re pretty strict these days :O

Nope, Star theatre down for good. And even though Denzong ‘claims’ to have Dolby Digital like no other Himalayan state, its screen is tiny compared to Vajra.

No such luck man! Wish there were only 4 working days! :D

When did you try entering Defence last? How do you know the guards’ve become strict? If they didn’t let you in, its probably because you dressed like a ’seheri babuni’ and drove zen. :P

Amen to that, man… wish there were only 4 dratted working days!

Went to that area for attending a wedding a year back. Idiots asked who we are, where we are going, come back before night fall, et all. Irritating people! I dunno how natives who live that side put up with all this nonsense. And all this was 9 months before the Zen :D Although I dont think even that would have eased out the stick from under their arse :D
