A gal who says "I just wanted to let you know that it's the first time I am putting scissors to hair. So if anything goes wrong, you've been warned!" I am totally with you girl.

Try unisex ones, not that they are painless place to be in but they are certainly free of mindless gossips. I hate the sight where women sit in rows with face packs on, and yet go on non-stop blabbering even at the risk of getting newer lines on their face. And yes, I have seen that men hair-dressers are usually more alert and tend to understand your liking better. Go find one and I am sure you won't regret! :D Hillarious but true! One lady chopped my hair so short and this before an ethnic party in college, I looked like a boy in saree :P.
